Tom Brady, the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, officially announced he will be retiring from the NFL, National Football League, after 22 seasons and seven Super Bowl wins. During his career with the New England Patriots, Brady has won six rings in the years 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, 2019. Brady alongside Bill Belichick, Patriots Head Coach, helped shape the Patriots into a dynasty that will be around for years and years to come. After 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, Brady decided to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2020. During his first season with the Buccaneers, he led them to the Super Bowl victory , where he indeed got his seventh ring, in 2021.
Brady stated “ “My playing career has been such a thrilling ride, and far beyond my imagination, and full of ups and downs. When you’re in it every day, you don’t really think about any kind of ending,” he continued.” As I sit here now, however, I think of all the great players and coaches I was privileged to play with and against. The competition was fierce and deep, JUST HOW WE LIKE IT. But the friendships and relationships are just as fierce and deep. I will remember and cherish these memories and revisit them often. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.”
Along with his many accomplishments, Brady owns more Super Bowl rings than any other NFL franchise, he is also a five- time Super Bowl MVP, most valuable player and was inducted in the Hall of Fame All- Decade Team for the 2000s and 2010s.
Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots stated, “ I have the greatest respect for Tom personally and always will. His humility, coupled with his drive and ambition, truly made him special. I will always feel a close bond to him and will always consider him an extension of my immediate family”
Many fans as well as NFL players are sad to see Brady go, but are thankful to have seen and known such an amazing player.
The Glazer Family, stated, “ Saying goodbye to a legend is never easy but we wish him continued success in the retirement”
We are excited to see what Brady will be doing after his requirements and we are ready to see what Rob Gronkowki will decide in terms of his retirement.
