Student Government had a brief meeting on Sept. 24, beginning with roll call. Both the previous week’s minutes and current week’s agenda were approved by a vote of general consent. The organization had one item of old business, fall elections, which closed Friday, Sept. 25. As for new business, two new clubs are seeking recommendations of approval: the Behrend Content Club and Girls Who Code. A motion was made to table voting until the meeting on Oct. 1, which passed 9-0-1.

Executive Board Reports:

President Napierski informed students that the deadline to sign up for the Jefferson Educational Society event featuring Michelle Obama is Oct. 1. Students interested in tickets should reach out to President Napierski as soon as possible. Napierski encouraged senators to sign up for the Council of Commonwealth Student Government’s upcoming meeting and to review Behrend’s strategic plan.

Vice-President Sawani Shinde was absent but encouraged senators to attend the first traffic appeals committee meeting, which is scheduled for Sept. 30. 

Treasurer Owen Kagle had no report.

Chief of Staff Michael Del Signore was absent and thus had no report.

Staff Reports:

Constitutional review head Bridget Culley encouraged students to join the committee.

Council Reports:

The Multicultural Council position remains open.

Panhellenic Council representative Nicole Conroy announced that the first round of recruitment has ended. Seven individuals joined Alpha Sigma Alpha, seven joined Alpha Sigma Tau, and five joined Theta Phi Alpha.

Interfraternity Council representative Eli Sloan announced that the council has begun to nominate candidates for the 2027 executive board.

Cabinet Reports:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion head Tina Yu has begun working on a project focused on community inclusion. She encouraged senators who want to assist to reach out to her.  

Student government meetings are on Thursdays at 4:30 and are open to all Behrend students.
