ERIE, PA On Thursday, January 18, a 31-year-old Erie man was taken into custody after he attempted to play slot machines with counterfeit money. 

Pennsylvania State Police contacted the man after a slot machine that he had been using at Presque Isle Downs and Casino had malfunctioned.

Police have stated that the machine malfunctioned because money called “motion picture money” or fake money had been put into the machine.

The man claimed to the police that he was not aware that the money had been fake. The police are continuing to investigate the situation. The man has been apprehended by police for warrants that are unrelated to the incident. The police have not publicly announced the name of the suspect at this time.
