After almost three weeks of games, the LA Dodgers and the New York Yankees are now set to play a total of seven games to determine the 2024 World Series Champion.

Despite a strong showing from the Kansas City Royals in their games against the Orioles, they were still unable to defeat the Yankees, who are the number one seed in the American League. The Yankees took the round with three wins. After that they played the second seed, the Clevland Guardians, who beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2. The Yankees won 4-1, with consistently high run counts and Juan Soto hitting a homer that secured them three runs in the tenth inning of game five. Juan Soto is projected to be one of the most important players in the upcoming championship series.

The LA Dodgers took a similar trajectory. As the number one seed in the National League, they played the San Diego Padres in a series of five games. They won the series 3-2, beating the Padres in their final game 2-0. Meanwhile, the New York Mets took their series against the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1, meaning they were the next team to challenge the Dodgers. Despite early wins, the Mets were unable to continue their momentum, eventually losing to the Dodgers 4-2 after a total of six games.

Now that the two teams have been selected, the World Series will begin on Friday, October 25. The teams will play a total of seven games, with each game being played until a winner is determined, meaning there will be no ties or chances for further games. The teams will play two games at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, and then three games at Yankees stadium in New York, with a day off in between. They will then return to Los Angeles for games six and seven, with a second day off for Hallowen and the transition back to Los Angeles. Tickets for the game are currently anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 dollars, depending on seat position.
