True crime enthusiasts unite for a podcast that unlocks the darkest crime mysteries while letting the audience help solve the case. ‘Crime Junkie’ is a podcast that is available on all podcasting platforms that takes a deeper look into solved and unsolved cases along with serial killers and missing persons.

As stated by ‘Crime Junkie’, “Crime Junkie is a weekly true crime podcast dedicated to discussing the cases you just can’t get out of your head. Every Monday, host Ashley Flowers covers new cases in a straightforward, relatable, and informative way alongside her best friend Brit Prawat. Crime Junkie focuses on underreported crimes, including solved and unsolved murders, missing persons cases, and more. If you can’t get enough of all things true crime but also wonder, “What can I do to help?” then you’re a crime junkie. So, listen and get ready to take action alongside your fellow crime junkies.”

Each episode of the podcast is labeled with the type of case: Missing, Murdered, Serial Killer, Mysterious Death Of, Famous, Survived, Be Weird, Be Rude, Stay Alive, which is shorted to BWBRSA, Wanted, Conspiracy, Headlines, Expert On, Precedent, Audio Extra, Captured, and Updated.

Most of the cases are not as well known, such as the missing case of a 2-year-old girl in San Francisco, Arianna Fitts, and the case of a missing nine-month pregnant 12-year-old girl named Celina Mays. Other cases are more well-known, for example, the kidnapping and survival of Jaycee Dugard and the disappearance of Mekayla Bali.

Ashley and Britt take the audience through the cases by discussing persons of interest, evidence, victims, and interviews with victims’ families. In the episode labeled ‘SURVIVED: Jaycee Dugard’, the hosts discuss the beginning to the end of the case as well as interview Dugard about her abduction. While Dugard’s case is solved, most of the cases featured on ‘Crime Junkie’ are unsolved and are featured in hopes that a person will come forward with the details needed for police to solve the case.

Crime conspiracy theories are also featured on ‘Crime Junkie’, such as the conspiracy about The Frog Boys of South Korea, which is a case where five boys vanish from their village in South Korea and the parents are convinced that their children’s cases are being covered up. Another conspiracy that is covered is the Smiley Face Killer, which follows the conspiracy that the killers were real. But a major case that is featured is that of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Ashley and Britt talk about the conspiracy theories that McCann could still be alive or if she is dead after being abducted in 2007.

‘Crime Junkie’ is not the podcast that features Ashley Flowers, as she has another podcast called ‘So Supernatural.’ This podcast is vastly different from ‘Crime Junkie’ because it features supernatural aspects such as ghosts and exorcisms. But ‘So Supernatural’ does discuss some crime cases that are believed to be supernaturally related. So both podcasts feature some level of true crime. So, listen with the beacon and add the podcast ‘Crime Junkie’ to your playlist.
