Los Angeles and Miami—Sean Combs, known to many as “P-Diddy,” “Diddy,” or “Puff Daddy,” had his properties become the target of a raid. The raid, conducted by multiple federal agencies on Monday, March 26, took place on two of his properties, one in Miami and the other in L.A.
The federal Homeland Security investigation is suspected to be related to accusations of sex trafficking against the rapper. These accusations follow many lawsuits about sexual assault against the rapper. These lawsuits all followed a similar pattern of Diddy coercing and otherwise forcing people to have sex with prostitutes. Some of these acts Diddy would film, particularly those which he made his former protege and girlfriend engage in. His former girlfriend, who is R&B singer Cassie, as well as another woman, have also accused the rapper of rape.
While it was not stated that the sex trafficking investigation had Combs as the target, he had been accused of just that in a former lawsuit. This lawsuit involved a 17-year-old high school student from Detroit who was flown to New York on a private jet. She was then taken to a recording studio, where she was given drugs and alcohol until she was unable to consent to sex. It was then that Combs, Harve Pierre, and a third man that the girl did not know took turns raping her. These allegations are similar to other lawsuits that have drugging and sexual assault in common. These lawsuits are also over beatings he allegedly gave the victims as well.
Combs’ lawyer has claimed that the searches were a “gross use of military-level force.” His lawyer also went on to say that Combs is “innocent and will continue to fight” to clear his name. This being said, there were proper warrants obtained for the searches of both properties. There was a total of five lawsuits against Combs over the years for sex-related crimes before the raid on Monday. Additionally, fellow Rapper 50 Cent also weighed in, posting on X: “Now it’s not Diddy do it, it’s Diddy done. They don’t come like that unless they got a case.” Time will tell if these allegations are true and whether or not 50 Cent is right and Homeland Security does have a case against Sean Combs.
