Yes I do, actually. I do not have super strong opinions on Groundhog Day or anything, but I still wanted to share because I am weird, I guess. And no, this is not about the movie with Bill Murray. Phil’s predictions are often unreliable, but it is still a great tradition to have.

On February 2, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, so he has predicted that we will have an early spring this year! I feel like this is the first time this has happened in forever. I feel like he always sees his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter. I always think it is kind of rigged. I know that is nonsense but I think it is funny.

Even though it is a pretty inconsequential holiday and many people do not even really think about it, I still think it is a very cute day to be celebrating. What other American holiday do we get to praise one specific animal? It is the cutest thing ever. I just think it is a little bit silly and I love it for that. Punxsutawney Phil is just a cute and silly little critter and I am happy that he gets annual recognition for just crawling out of a hole in the ground.
