1. Make a list of goals you want to accomplish

In times where I feel like I have a lot of things to do, I find it helpful to fully list out everything that needs to get done. It can be big or small. For me, I go week by week and just list out everything I need to do during the week. It can be as simple as doing the laundry or washing the dishes. But, for bigger goals, you have to take your time with them. If deadlines stress you out, do not make a deadline. Just make it a note to complete it or have it progress in a timely manner.

2. Review your goals and see if they are realistic to complete in the time you set

You never want completing your goals to cause you too much stress or to take over your entire life. So, for smaller goals, it could be a simple task to get them completed in a short period of time. But, bigger goals require your time. Like writing a book, for example, no one can write a book in a day or a week… Well, no one can write a GOOD book in a day or a week. Those kind of goals take time. And you have to make sure they are getting the attention they deserve so you can see the success.

3. Have some positive self-talk

Obviously, if you are talking down about yourself and your abilities, you are not going to see much success in what you are trying to do. Like, when you are preparing for a test and you keep telling yourself you are going to fail and then you do. That is called a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe you are going to do well and you are confident in yourself, chances are you will do a lot better. It is kind of a “fake it until you make it” situation at times. If you keep telling yourself positive things about yourself when you do not believe them, it will eventually start to resonate with you and you will start to believe it yourself.

4. Remember to give yourself breaks

Do not try to be a perfectionist, at least at first. Allow yourself time to breathe and to relax. You do not want to strain yourself or cause yourself to have burnout. Some of my best work comes from a long break, sometimes. Always look after your mental health before any project or whatever you may be working on.
