Agatha Darkhold Diaries

This new Marvel miniseries starring Kathryn Hahn has already started filming and is currently in post-production, with no release date in sight. The miniseries is supposed to be a ‘Wandavison’ spinoff show and is going to air on Disney Plus. According to CBR.com, the show will take place after the end of ‘Wandavison’. The character of Agatha Harkness has finally broken out of a spell that she has been trapped in. The show has a star-studded cast, including the likes of Broadway actress Patti Lapone, Heartstopper star Joe Locke, Orphan star Isabelle Furhman, and Parks and Recreation actress Audrey Plaza. The new Marvel project was announced in November 2021. According to CBR.com, the project was originally named ‘Agatha: House of Harkness’ before the name was changed to ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’. The filming of the show originally concluded in May 2023, but reshoots had to be pushed back to the start of 2024. After Marvel Studios changed their release slate for 2024, pushing back several anticipated shows, Disney confirmed that the miniseries would be released in 2024. The speculation from this announcement is that the show will air in the fall of 2024.

A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow

Announced in 2022, the film adaptation of the young adult novel ‘A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow’ by Laura Taylor Namey has yet to be released. The company Ace Entertainment launched production of the project back in 2022. The synopsis of the film is that the main character, Lila, leaves her life in Miami to spend the summer at her aunt’s inn in the UK. She then falls in love with the British countryside and a handsome British man. The film stars Maia Reffico, known for her role as Noa in MAX’s ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’, and Kit Connor, known for his roles as Young Elton John in ‘Rocketman’ and Nick Nelson in Netflix’s ‘Heartstopper’. Filming of the film has been done since at least 2023; there is no
release date in sight. The film is still said to be shopped around networks like Netflix.

A Quiet Place: Day One

This film is just one of many that was pushed back due to the writer’s and actors strikes. The movie is supposed to serve as a prequel to the ‘A Quiet Place’ franchise and expand to the beginning of the alien invasion. While this film will not feature the Abbott family, their adventure and story will continue in ‘A Quiet Place 3, which is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2025. ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ will have new characters. The film has finished filming and is ready to be released, but the strikes have caused it to be pushed back. Previously slated for release in March 2024, it has been pushed back to be released on June 28, 2024.
