The Penn State Behrend women’s bowling team recently concluded their participation in the Daemen Storm Fall Classic with a 3-7 overall record on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12, landing them in the ninth spot among 12 competing teams. The two-day event featured intense competition, with key moments that showcased the team’s determination and skill.

On the second day of the competition, which consisted of Baker-style games, the Lions faced off against formidable opponents:

  • Hilbert triumphed over Penn State Behrend with a close score of 754-751.
  • Roberts Wesleyan secured a victory with 851 pins, while Penn State Behrend scored 820.
  • Saint Vincent emerged victorious with a score of 797 to Penn State Behrend’s 764.
  • In a thrilling match, Penn State Behrend overcame Pitt-Greensburg with a score of 731-706.
  • Mercyhurst dominated the competition with 858 pins, while Penn State Behrend scored 715.

Throughout the competition, the Lions displayed moments of resilience and tenacity:

  • The Lions finished the event with a 1-4 record in five baker games, showcasing their ability to stay competitive in challenging matchups.
  • In a standout performance, Penn State Behrend defeated Pitt-Greensburg in match four with a final score of 731-706, highlighting their determination to secure victories.
  • The lineup consisting of Chelsea Wayne (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Emily Warrene (Tarentum, PA/Deer Lakes), Katy Richardson (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg), Sidney Batsa (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe), and Bella Pilyih (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler Area) emerged victorious against the Bobcats.
  • Overall, the Lions accumulated a total pinfall of 3,781 in baker play, further demonstrating their proficiency in the format. Over the course of 10 matches, they knocked down an impressive 7,602 pins, boasting an average of 152.0 pins per game.

Despite facing tough competition, the Penn State Behrend women’s bowling team showcased their resilience and determination throughout the Daemen Storm Fall Classic, leaving a strong impression on the bowling community. With their unwavering spirit and commitment, the team is poised to continue improving and making their mark in future tournaments.
