DENVER, COLORADO – A funeral home owner and his wife have been arrested. Decaying remains of 189 people were found at the funeral home.

The couple, Jon and Carrie Hallford are being suspected of abuse of a corpse, money laundering, and forgery. Jon Hallford is currently being held in Muskogee County jail. Authorities have yet to release where his wife Carrie is being held at this time.

The couple owns Return to Nature Funeral Home. Authories found the bodies are being called to the funeral home for a disturbing smell. Originally, it was stated that there were 115 bodies found but then it changed to 189 after the police finished investigating the scene of the crime.

According to NBC News, the Hallford’s were talked to on the phone by the director of Funeral Home and Crematory registration in Colorado. Jon Hallford allegedly tried to conceal the storage of the corpses by stating that there was a problem with the sight.

In 2017, the Hallfords opened the funeral home and started offering cremations and green burials. They were recently evicted from one of their funeral properties are failing to pay their bills and taxes. Officals have Stated that no state regulator when the visit the funeral home until 10 months after their registration had expired.
