ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team delivered a commanding performance in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action this past Friday, October 6, triumphing with a resounding 9-0 victory over La Roche at the Westwood Racquet Club.
With this win, Penn State Behrend improved their season record to 6-3, including an impressive 4-1 record in AMCC play. In contrast, La Roche fell to 0-6 overall and 0-4 within the conference.
The key moments of the match showcased the dominance of the Behrend Lions:
Firstly, the Behrend Lions secured their fourth conference victory of the season, doing so in convincing fashion with a flawless 9-0 scoreline.
In the singles action, the Lions exhibited their defensive prowess by conceding only two set points throughout the matches, demonstrating their exceptional skill and determination.
Additionally, Behrend showcased their formidable doubles expertise, sweeping all of the doubles matches. Their dominance carried into the singles contests, where they claimed five victories, each with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.
Erica Jasinski, hailing from Fairview, Pennsylvania, delivered a standout performance at the No. 1 singles spot. She squared off against the top player for the Redhawks and emerged victorious with a commanding score of 6-1, 6-1. Her exceptional skills and composure were evident throughout the match.
Jasinski and her partner, Lindsey Kerlin from Clearfield, Pennsylvania, also displayed their exceptional teamwork in the doubles category. They achieved an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles position, further solidifying Penn State Behrend’s dominance on the courts.
