On Sunday Feb. 26, former Disney-actor-turned-Youtuber, and professional boxer Jake Paul is set to fight professional boxer Tommy Fury. Tommy Fury is the younger brother of the undefeated Heavyweight Champion of the World, Tyson Fury.

Jake Paul holds a professional boxing record of 6 wins and no losses, with his most recent fight being a notable win against former U.F.C. legend, Anderson Silva. Paul has been criticized for cherry picking his opponents. Some of Paul’s wins consist of former U.F.C. fighters Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, both having stepped into the boxing ring with Paul having never had a professional boxing bout prior.

The real difference leading into Paul’s fight with Anderson Silva, was that Silva was coming off a professional boxing win over the former Middleweight Champion of the World Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This win against Anderson Silva, finally gave Jake Paul some real boxing credibility. Paul has taken his time and put forth real work into learning the sweet science of boxing. Now let us take a closer look at this fight.

Tommy Fury carries much of his credibility because of his brother being the Heavyweight Champion of the World. Aside from the fame he has gained from his shenanigans while talking smack with Jake Paul, Tommy Fury had some fame from having been on the Reality Television show, Love Island

At a closer look, while both fighters are undefeated, Fury at 8 and 0, and Paul at 6 and 0, this fight does not make sense. Paul’s last win was over a man who had just defeated a former world champion in the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez.

Now Fury does have an 8 and 0 record in boxing, but one where his opponents have a combined professional record that almost sounds impossibly bad. Fury, with only 8 fights, has faced opponents with a combined record of 15 wins, 174 loses and 5 draws. Tommy Fury does not have a single notable win. What he does have, is the fame of being Tyson Fury’s little brother.

Now I am going to make a prediction here. I predict Paul will win by knockout within 6 rounds. He does have legit power. He does hit really hard. And leave no doubt about it, Paul has hand picked Fury for this fight.

Paul is the big name here, and the money draw. He knows exactly what he is doing in picking this opponent. He knows that Fury can ride the Fury name. He also knows that Tommy is nothing like Tyson and has had the easiest path possible to 8 and 0. Jake Paul knows that Tommy is the easiest opponent he can pick with a name worth recognizing.

I am having trouble believing that this a PPV event that Tommy Fury has even been let in with is opponents only having 15 wins out of 194 fights. The world of boxing has changed. This shows that it is still an entertainment business. Jake Paul alone has done wonders to rejuvenate a sport that has been losing popularity over the past years.

Love him or hate him though, Jake Paul is a real fighter, the kid can bang, and my prediction is that Tommy Fury is about to get the biggest payday of his career, because he was hand picked as Jake’s next target. If Paul was able to box as he did against Anderson Silva, Tommy Fury is in trouble.
