Welcome to the Club Showcase where every week we highlight one of the many extraordinary clubs you can join as a Penn State Behrend student. Today, we are focusing on the Biology Club. To learn more about this club, let us go to our discussion with club secretary Tyler Stickles.

What is the name of your club? (and nickname if you have one)

“We are the Biology [or just Bio] Club.”

Does your club have a mission statement? What are your core values?

“Seeks to broaden members’ knowledge of biology and related fields. In addition to having speakers discuss career opportunities, the club also sponsors educational trips. The club helps enlighten the community about various aspects of the past, present, and future biological world.”

What is the most significant thing your club does on-campus?

“The most significant event that the Biology club runs on-campus is the Fire with the Professors.”

Do you have any upcoming events currently planned? If so, what events and when?

“Yes! We have a variety of events coming throughout the rest of the Spring semester.

Feb. 20 – STEAM Fair

Feb. 27 – Undecided but leaning toward a student panel on research and scheduling

March 13 – Popluck Popcorn Giveaway

March 27 – Career Round Table with different biology-based professionals

April 10 – Tie-Dying Event”

How can a student get involved with your organization?

“Follow the club’s Instagram @psbbiologyclub to learn more about our upcoming events and meetings.”

And that was the Biology Club. If you are interested in joining, make sure to reach out to Tyler or the rest of the club’s E-Board for more information. We will see you next week for another installment of Club Showcase!
