The Penn State Behrend Women’s Basketball team is dominating their season with overall 16
wins and 5 losses averaging 83 points per game. Overall, this season has been a great one for
the girls team.
These girls’ hard work is shining with triumph on the court this season. The team was
described as being in a “scoring frenzy” twice this season when scoring over 100 points in a
single game twice this season.
When taking on fellow lions from Penn State Altoona, Behrend prevailed with a final score of
103-52.
When going head to head with Pitt Bradford the girls overpowered the court. The Lions had 14
different players score, leading to the most points recorded in a game this season with a final
score of 105-45.
This past week Morgan Altavilla [Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin] and Rachel Kaulis [McKean,
PA/General McLane] scored a game-high 16 points. Kaulis’ 16 points and seven field goals
marked new career highs in each category. Rachel Majewski [Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy],
Altavilla, and Madilyn Boyer [Saxonburg, PA/Knoch] are among the top five in scoring in the
AMCC. Majewski continues to pace the league with 19.6 points per game. The sophomore has
scored 663 points in 46 games played over her career.
There are two more women’s home games this season. They will be taking on Alfred state on
Wednesday February 15th at 7pm, free hot dogs will be available in Junker.
They will also be facing Pitt Greensburg Saturday February 18th at 4pm. Show your Penn
State pride and come out to support our women’s basketball team this week!
