Peach PRC got her start by putting together tracks in her bedroom. The 25-year-old singer started posting original songs and covers after joining TikTok in 2019. She also opened up about her job as a stripper and her issues with mental health. Her stage name originates from her time as a stripper, where she would perform under the name “Peach Porcelain,” which she then shortened to “Peach PRC” for her singing career. She writes and performs songs she describes as “depression pop” and has a very bubblegum pink pop aesthetic to her look and her sound. She describes her look as being rooted in “everything that’s over the top and fun and bright.”
Her debut single “Blondes” was released in 2019, but her first song that went viral was “Josh,” which she wrote about an ex. “Josh” is an honest account of a young woman who is fed up with her egotistical ex-boyfriend. Evidently, she has successfully moved on and wants him to quit calling her. The song is a great introduction to what Peach PRC will be releasing shorty in terms of additional “girly pop” songs. And with other songs like “Symptomatic” and “Forever Drunk,” she is not afraid to show her vulnerable side and open up about her mental health issues in her pop music.
Peach came out as a lesbian in January of 2022. The singer shared the news on Instagram along with many images of herself posing in a garden wearing a revealing pink dress. She had previously identified as bisexual. This is very evident in her songs where she makes them pretty obviously queer-coded. Peach PRC transforms the things you exclusively discuss with your closest friends into pop that sings and sparkles equally. She is equally sympathetic and witty, and she doesn’t hold back when discussing mental health, life’s highs and lows, or anything else in between. With over 1.9 million TikTok followers, over 80 million artist streams, and praise from publications like Billboard, Vogue Australia, BuzzFeed, Coup De Main, Consequence, NME, Paper, Refinery29, and more, she has already amassed a sizable fanbase. So, she has been very acclaimed in social media and musical audiences.
If you enjoy music similar to the vibes of Britney Spears or any kind of bubblegum pop, give Peach PRC a listen. She is definitely not just another pretty face on TikTok and has proved herself to be the new up-and-coming “pop princess.” Her undeniable talent may attract your attention, but it’s her charisma that keeps your attention. Her first EP, Manic Dream Pixie, comes out on April 28th and I highly recommend you check it out when it releases!
