Streaming services have been overcoming cable television since the 2010s. More and more streaming services have been released since 2007. Both the Netflix and Hulu streaming services were launched in 2007. Other streaming services followed like Peacock and HBO Max which launched in 2020 and Paramount Plus and Discovery Plus which launched in 2021. Netflix and Hulu are two of the biggest streaming services since the services launched in 2007 and they are the very first streaming services launched. But which service is better, Netflix or Hulu?

First, I believe that Hulu is the superior streaming service of the two platforms. Both streaming services have three subscription prices available. Netflix subscription is based on the number of devices you can simultaneously stream and the quality of the video. Hulu subscription prices are based on ads, ad-free, and live tv. 

Both Hulu no ads and Netflix standard are around the same price but Netflix is about 50 cents more expensive than Hulu without ads. But prices for every streaming service are increasing so prices are not a problem unless someone wants to save money and use Hulu with ads. 

The prices of the standard version of Netflix and Hulu with no ads are about the same due to prices increasing. What about the content on Hulu makes it better than Netflix? I think that Hulu’s content is better than Netflix’s in a way because Hulu has next-day streaming, so a show that has aired on cable will be able to be streamed on Hulu the next day. 

Hulu has a lot of content from networks like ABC and Fox. Fans of shows like “The Bachelor” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will like Hulu because they can watch new episodes the day after they premiere. Hulu also now owns the rights to every FX show because of the FX and Hulu deal. Fans of “What We Do In The Shadows,” “American Horror Story,” and “American Crime Story” can watch every season on Hulu. Hulu does have some popular original series like “A Handmaid’s Tale,” “Only Murders In The Building,” and “American Horror Stories.”

Netflix’s original content is slightly better than Hulu’s, but Hulu makes up for it in the next day’s streaming of cable television shows. Also, Netflix is always losing content, and a lot of that content that is removed from Netflix has gone to Hulu. 

In my opinion, Hulu is a better streaming service than Netflix. Hulu has a subscription plan for people who want to save money which does have ads but it also has a subscription without ads and it includes a live tv subscription. Hulu has a lot of content from cable television like ABC and Fox, and also has a ton of content from FX. Although some people might not agree with my opinion that Hulu is better than Netflix, I do hope that some other people also recognize that Hulu is better than Netflix.
