On October 19, it was leaked that Ash Williams from the classic horror franchise “Evil Dead” would be soon added to a game known for collaborations: “Fortnite.” A few days afterward, the horror icon was made purchasable as part of the game’s annual “Fortnitemares” event.

The bundle costs 1,800 “V-Bucks,” the game’s currency system, costing around $20. It comes with Ash Williams, his iconic chainsaw hand as a harvesting tool, an emote referencing a scene of the first movie, and three related back-bling cosmetics.

Ash Williams can also be found in-game as a non-playable character. Located in the wooded areas of Reality Falls, Ash can be found in a cabin similar to the iconic “Evil Dead: setpiece. Especially studious fans of the game have found out that by wearing a “Spider-Man” related skin, his non-playable character says “You remind me of a wrestler I knew…”. This references the first Spider-Man movie in which Toby Maguire’s Spiderman starts as a wrestler and the ring announcer is none other than Bruce Campbell, the same actor who plays Ash Williams! This reference is even more correlated as the director of “Evil Dead,” Sam Raimi, directed the original “Spider-Man” film trilogy. A small but cute detail added by the developers of the game.

From various reports, Ash Williams will be available in “Fortnite”‘s item shop until November 1, the same date as the ending of their “Fortnitemares” event.
