Behrend Benefiting THON held their annual RAC-FAC—Riding and Cycling for a Child—from Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Friday, Oct. 14.
Collectively, participants rode or cycled 1278 miles. The top runner was Liane Mooney, who ran 31.45 miles, while the top cyclist, Faith Morelli, rode 153.65 miles.
Held in October each year, RAC-FAC benefits THON, an organization that collects donations for children and families devastated by childhood cancer. Last year, THON had a total of $13,756,374.50 donated—with Behrend amongst the top donors.
Each winter, participants go down to University Park, where they have a 72-hour standing marathon: no sitting, breaks, or sleeping allowed. Behrend holds its own version—called 48 For a Child (48FAC)—annually in December.
