Welcome to the Club Showcase where every week we highlight one of the many extraordinary clubs you can join as a Penn State Behrend student each week. Today, we are focusing on the Gender and Sexuality Equality Club, GASE. To learn more about this club, let us go to our discussion with the club President Sarah (She/Her). 

 

What is the name of your club? (and nickname if you have one) 

Gender and Sexuality Equality Club. GASE for short.”

 

Does your club have a mission statement? What are your core values? 

“The Gender and Sexuality Equality Club of Penn State Behrend is dedicated to promoting a safe and accepting atmosphere. Our community provides a safe space for the exploration of gender identity and sexuality. We are open to everybody.”

 

What is the most significant thing your club does on-campus? 

The most significant event we hold on Campus is the drag show. We’re hoping to bring it back!”

 

Do you have any upcoming events currently planned? If so, what events and when? 

We are partnering with Reality Check to help fold newspapers for Erie Gay News on October 25”

 

How do you get involved with your organization? 

We hold meetings every monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the MCC Suite, Reed 119, During these meetings we go over club business, happenings on campus, plan future events, and do fun activities.”
