Pop-punk band Paramore announced to the music-listening public that their new album “This is Why” will be released on February 10, 2023. This announcement came with the release of this album’s title track and its respective music video.

The Nashville-based group has not released any music since 2017s “After Laughter.” Their label Atlantic Records stated in a press release that the band is “Entering back into a world — and culture landscape — very different from the one they last participated in, Paramore have returned with a song exactly that.” According to Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the band, “‘This Is Why’ was the very last song we wrote for the album”.

Hayley Williams also stated that the upcoming record “summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even the last three or four years” while at a Q&A in the group’s Discord server.

So far, we know that the new record will consist of 10 tracks. In support of “This is Why,” Paramore will be performing shows across North America starting on October 2, 2022, in Bakersfield, California.
