Music sensation Rihanna has confirmed that she will be the artist performing at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. Next Year’s Super Bowl will be held in February in Glendale, Arizona. Roc Nation, Rihanna’s label, released a statement confirming the singer’s performance at the Super Bowl. Rihanna also confirmed her performance via Instagram with an image of her hand holding a football.
According to Variety, the Super Bowl typically is one of the largest single TV audiences of the year. Even though the singer has not released an album since 2016, her rabid fans are excited about Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl.
Since “Anti,” Rihanna’s previous record, the singer has commented vaguely about two different albums with none having been released. Fans are hoping Rihanna’s performance at the Halftime show will mean a new album is approaching the horizon. According to Variety, Rihanna was offered to perform at the halftime show in 2019 but turned down the offer.
This is the first year that Apple Music will be the sponsor for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Apple Music replaced Pepsi as the official sponsor of the Halftime show.
The Halftime show will be the first scheduled stage return for Rihanna who has not performed live since the 2018 Grammys. Even though Rihanna has not released any new albums since 2016, the singer has appeared as a guest on multiple popular songs. Fans of Rihanna cannot wait till February to see her return to the stage for the Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
