With the NHL season coming in close, the Pittsburgh Penguins are not showing their
potential in the preseason games. Starting on September 25, the Penguins had to play back-to-
back against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Entering overtime, the Penguins won against the Blue
Jackets 3-2, but when it came time for the Penguins team to step back onto the ice to face the
Blue Jackets, they lost 5-1.
Since the loss in Columbus, their entire preseason games have not been in their favor.
They lost to the Detroit Red Wings 6-2 and Buffalo Sabers 3-1. With the actual season starting
on October 8th, coach Mike Sullivan has cut the training camp roster down to 28 players.
Sullivan sent Alex Nylander, Valtteri Puustinen, Drake Caggiula, Filip Hallander, Jamie Devane,
Kyle Olson, Nathan Legare, Raivis Ansons, Corey Andonovski, and Drew O’Connor and
defensemen Xavier Ouellet, Colin Swoyer, and Jack St. Ivany to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton’s
training camp along with goaltenders Filip Lindberg and Dustin Tokarski forwards. Hopefully,
with the change in roster, the Penguins can create the necessary lines needed before the season
begins.
