Welcome to the Club Showcase where every week we highlight one of the many extraordinary clubs you can join as a Penn State Behrend student. Today, we are focusing on The Behrend Political Society. To learn more about this club, let us go to our discussion with the club’s President Spencer Finley.
What is the name of your club? (and nickname if you have one)
“The Behrend Political Society.”
Does your club have a mission statement? What are your core values?
“The Behrend Political Society provides a forum to convene and discuss local, national and international politics, as well as campus related politics. The Society also investigates possible graduate/law schools internships, and jobs that may be of interest to members. Additionally, BPS will strive to bring political speakers to campus in order to facilitate intellectual and informational discussions about politics.”
What is the most significant thing your club does on-campus?
We facilitate political debate in many forms; in the past, our club has moderated debate between the College Democrats and the College Republicans.
Do you have any upcoming events currently planned? If so, what events and when?
“We have a general meeting on Monday, September 26 at 6 PM in Reed 112. Stay tuned for the exciting events we have in the works for October!”
How do you get involved with your organization?
“Please email president Spencer Finley at SJF5814@psu.edu.”
And that was The Behrend Political Society. If you are interested in joining, make sure to reach Spencer for more information. We will see you next week for another installment of Club Showcase!
