Behrend students kicked off the Fall 2022 semester with a concert headlined by rapper Yung Gravy. With hits like “Betty (Get Money)” and “Gravy Train”, the night was certainly one to remember.
Yung Gravy—real name Matt Hauri—is a 26-year-old rapper from Rochester, Minnesota who has steadily risen to fame since his start in 2016. Thanks to his blend of old-school hits and satirical rap, Yung Gravy attracts quite the crowd along with his DJ, Tiiiiiiiiiip.
With numbers in the thousands, the concert was quite a success. Students thoroughly enjoyed Yung Gravy’s unique character and could be found catching bananas tossed into the crowd. Attendees were lucky to find signed Lunchables and cereal boxes thrown their way as well. Gravy has stated in previous interviews that throwing an assortment of foods has become a tradition at his shows because it undeniably sets him apart from other musicians. Even those who did not know Gravy’s music were found dancing, singing, and having an enjoyable night. A special thank you to Student Leadership and Involvement and Fall 2022 Concert Committee for hosting and setting up a fantastic show!
