SPOILER WARNING
“Only Murders In The Building”, an Emmy award-winning comedy show, has been streaming on Hulu since the first season premiered on August 31, 2021. After almost a year, on June 28, 2022, viewers emerged for the intriguing story of who killed Bunny Forges. The first season was full of twists and turns. Shocking reveals and betrayals. Season 2 is no different, packed full of shocking twists and reveals that keep that audience locked in and on the edge of their seats.
To begin, the season opens only a few minutes after the end of season 1. Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez respectively, are interviewed and are now persons of interest in the murder investigation of Bunny Forges, played by Jayne Houdyshell, and is the Arconia’s Board President, which is the apartment complex all of the suspects live in. Not only do the police suspect that the three killed Bunny but, the host of Mabel, Charles, and Oliver’s favorite podcast Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, also believes that the three have committed the murder. The gang decides to restart their podcast in an attempt to clear their names and reveal who killed Bunny.
Along the way to clear their names. Mabel meets Alice, played by Cara Delevinge, an artist who is Mabel’s new love interest. Alice is also thought to be the killer later in the season. Throughout the season, the gang investigates who killed Bunny. Eventually, they realized that Nina, played by Christine Ko, the new board President of Arcornia, had enough of a motive to kill Bunny. Nina then becomes the prime suspect in the investigation. Throughout the rest of season 2 from suspect to suspect the killer is finally revealed to be Becky, played by Adlina Verson, Cinda Canning’s assistant. Becky, who was the subject of Canning’s podcast All Is Not Okay In Oklahoma, ended up killing Bunny with her boyfriend to become famous. In the end, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel catch another murder occurring in the building.
The hidden gem of the season is the character Lucy, played by Zoe Margaret Colletti, who shows up at Charles’s apartment claiming that she came to visit him the night that Bunny died. Lucy, who was the daughter of Charles’s ex-girlfriend, brings a new light to “Only Murders In The Building” this season. Lucy shows a different side to Steve Martin’s character Charles. Lucy reappearing in Charles’ life reassures the audience that his television show and the podcast are not the only things that Charles cares about.
