Each year Behrend hosts a Fall Career and Internship Fair, and in recent years it has been held both online and as an in-person event. This is a great opportunity for Penn State students to make contact with people in their field and further connections they will need in their post-graduate careers.
On Wednesday, September 21, the in-person career fair will take place outside the Junker Center on-campus from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The virtual career fair will take place the following week on September 29 and can be accessed through the Nittany Lion Careers platform. This fair will run from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
If you wish to attend the virtual fair, it is necessary to register beforehand via Nittany Lion Careers or you will be unable to access the event. You register for Nittany Lion Careers, upload your résumé, and then can search for any positions you may be interested in.
These events are very beneficial to students, and the Academic Career and Planning Center hosts events before the Career fair to help students prepare to make the best possible impression ahead of time. The Spring Career Fair in 2022 had over 130 organizations in attendance, spanning many fields to allow for students from all disciplines to have people to make contact with at this event.
These events usually require business professional attire, but the Career Services office rents out suits and professional clothing to students throughout the year when needed. Additionally, the ACPC is available to assist students with preparing for this event in as many ways as possible and will offer drop-in résumé reviews on the day of the career fair in Reed 125.
According to the ACPC website, “The Penn State Behrend Career and Internship Fair is an excellent opportunity for you to discuss full-time, part-time, internship, and co-op opportunities with companies recruiting for all Penn State Behrend majors.”
