Nightfall was fast approaching

That meant death and his cold embrace

Would welcome anyone who wanted it

But, I sat here underneath

A weeping willow

Her curtains keeping in warmth

And filtering out the cold

Along with the menacing creatures

That would roam around during

Nightfall

Growing tired in this welcoming environment

I close my eyes, dreaming of nothing

Other than warmth

Feeling myself become weightless

I open my eyes, to find myself floating

In this endless galaxy with the weeping willow

Still behind me with her curtains

Parting her leaves like an actor

Coming on from the stage

A glow like the sun emerges

Ridding of the darkness that was in this universe

A warm, welcome smile appears

And the glow takes shape of someone

Who I only saw in my dreams

Whenever I wanted to see that fabled

Golden yellow

The glow around them was that on par

To the natural sun’s glow

But their aura was comforting

They extended their hand out

Wanting me to take it

Hesitantly, I reached up and took their hand

They pulled me up from where I was sitting

And embraced me

Their embrace felt like the sun itself

So warm and full of fire

Burning away the cold that was left behind

I closed my eyes, tears sliding down my face

Dreaming of this golden yellow

And finally experiencing it

Was something I never wanted to let go

Unfortunately, my eyes opened up

And was met with the warm glow of the sun

I stood up and walked away from the weeping willow

Forever letting my dream of seeing that

Fairytale of a color rest in her roots

For her to take care of

Until the day comes when I return

And dream of that same

Golden Yellow underneath her

Weeping Willows at

Nightfall
