Penn State University recently published the Annual Safety Reports for the year 2021. These reports include crime statistics for the previous 3 years, campus security policies, and crime prevention and safety awareness programs.
According to the Penn State website, “These reports contain Clery Act crime statistics from the previous three years that were reported to University Police, as well as other University offices, Campus Security Authorities and local law enforcement agencies.”
Incidents that occurred on campus, in off-campus buildings and property owned or controlled by Penn State University as well as public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus are included within the report.
The report also includes institutional policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault and other matters.
Campuses that have on campus housing for students also published the Annual Fire Report which is included in the Annual Safety Report. The Annual Fire Report also includes statistics from the last three years like the Annual Safety Report.
In the report, President Eric J. Barron stated, “Penn State is committed to providing a safe campus environment, and we ask that everyone take ownership of this goal. Over the years, and in myriad ways, Penn State has undertaken many important institutional efforts to address safety issues, including this publication.”
Charles Noffsinger, Associate Vice President for University Police and Public Safety stated, “Penn State University Police and Public Safety takes a very seriously its role to provide and promote a safe and secure environment in which to learn, live, work and play. We urge you, as members of the Penn State community, to use this publication as a guide for safe practices on and off campus and look forward to partnering with you to accomplish this important mission.”
The Annual Safety Report for Penn State Behrend is 66 pages and covers all topics mentioned above, including an Annual Fire Report that is available at the end of the document.
