A shadow of war

Looms over the land

Though painfully neutral

The onlookers stand

Afraid to act

For fear of his wrath

The west does nothing

A change from the past

Nations once jumping

At the chance to invade

Now see a conflict

And fearfully evade

“Don’t be the world police”

“It isn’t our place”

But invading for oil

Was it not a disgrace?

The war machine hungers

But the west sees no plunder

As the world keeps on gawking

The Ukranians suffer
