Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson, was arrested the morning of Super Bowl Sunday, in Las Angeles airport in connection to a domestic violence case.

Peterson, an NFL veteran, who played college football at Oklahoma State University, where he set the freshman rushing record with 1,925 yards during the 2004 season. Peterson retired in 2019 after playing for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions and lastly the Seattle Seahawks. Peterson played with the Vikings for most of his career and bounced around from team to team later.

According to the L.A Airport police statement, they responded to a call made at 8:30am, about an alleged domestic violence altercation on an aircraft headed to Houston. According to police, they responded to “ a verbal and physical altercation between a make suspect and a female victim”

Peterson, male, 36 was taken to Las Angeles Police Department Pacific Division, where he was set on bail for $50,000, and was later released on bond.

According to sources, Ashley Peterson was not going to press charges.

When asked about the incident, Peterson’s representative stated “ This a private misunderstanding between husband and wife and we anticipate it will al be resolved shorty”

Ashley Peterson and the other passengers were able to still fly to Houston and Peterson was sentenced to a court hearing on June 16, 2022.

This isnt the first time Peterson has been charged with abuse, back in 2014 Peterson was charged with felony child abuse, when he used a switch to spank his 4-year-old-son, which unfortun ateky left the child with bruises all over his body. Peterson was placed on a two-year probation period and was fined $4,000.

On February 15, 2022, a representative from Los Angeles DA’s offices told TMZ sports “ they’ve elected not to charge the 36-year old running back”. While Peterson isn’t totally in the clear he should be happy that he is facing no real charges.
