Twitter recently announced that they are changing some aspects of their beloved app to make users happier.
Twitter took feedback from users who thought the app could use a tweak and decided to make a Twitter that one could subscribe to.
On June 3, Twitter released this new subscription option to Canada and Australia, but just recently made it available to users in the U.S. Fortunately, Twitter will not be doing away with it’s free version, only making a subscription an option for users.
A Twitter subscription lets users create folders for bookmarking, undo tweets and have reader-mode.
All of these aspects that Twitter is just now developing for this subscription service have been complaints from users for a while. Twitter even included on their press release Tweets from people who were requesting these certain “flaws” to be changed or fixed.
In one Tweet it said, “would love a Twitter undo button for like 30 seconds so I can save my clever tweet without deleting it over an autocorrect fail.”
So Twitter responded with this new service.
Now with a button to “undo Tweets”, users can undo the Tweet and change what they want. This could be helpful in a myriad of situations like if one forgot to tag someone, mistyped or just wanted to change something.
With this new button that is basically an “edit” feature, users can preview and revise the Tweet before it goes live on Twitter. Users can even set a timer up to 30 seconds to click undo before the Tweet is Tweeted into the Twitter verse.
Users were also adamant about having a feature that allowed them to create bookmarks to categorize and organize the content they liked. Twitter heard the complaints and created such a feature. Bookmark folders is a way to let users organize specific Tweets they have saved. It is also easy to find, easily manageable and most efficient in times when looking for a specific piece of content.
The last major feature Twitter included in the new subscription service is something called “reader mode”. Reader mode is described as a way to let users have a more beautiful experience on Twitter by “getting rid of the noise.” Twitter said that they are making it easier for users to keep up with long threads by turning them into easy-to-read text.
Besides these big three upgrades, people who buy into Twitter Blue will also receive perks like customizable app icons for their home screens and have “fun colorful” themes for their Twitter app. They will also have access to “dedicated subscription customer support.”
If one does decide that Twitter Blue is the right option for them, there will be a monthly price of $3.49 CAD or $4.49 AUD. For subscribers in the U.S., subscriptions cost $2.99 per month.
Twitter Blue is determined to listen to users, so feedback from the service will always be listened to. Twitter says that their service will always be upgraded. So to know the newest with Twitter Blue, you can go to their website or their blog to read up on what the subscription has to offer.
