On October 29, Jake Paul V Tommy Fury was officially announced to take place on Saturday, December 18 in Tampa, Florida. Tommy Fury is the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and is 7-0 in pro boxing.

According to ESPN in September Tyson Fury joked in an interview with Boxing Social that if Tommy lost to Paul, he should change his name.

“I offered Fury to change his name to Tommy Fumbles or put up $500,000 of his purse if he loses,” Paul said. “He chose to agree to change his name. Guess he puts more value on money then he does his own family name. Maybe he knows his family is disowning him once he loses, so money and Molly is all he’s going to have left.”

On November 24, the two held a press conference about their future match, during which they both continued, as independent.co.uk put it, their war of words. While Tommy Fury attended in-person, Paul attended via Zoom

According to the Independent, Tommy Fury said to Paul, “Fighting wins fights. I’m not engaging in this. I’m not on Instagram as I don’t care. When he jumps through the ropes and realizes I’m not a YouTuber and gets a jab landed on that chin, he’ll be saying, ‘pull me out.’ This is easy money for me. I’m going to rob the bank, thank you very much. I can’t miss that jaw. I’ll bust you up. I’ll break your face completely in. I hope you’re ready. You’re an absolute state and will get a reality check.”

The Independent continued from Paul to Tommy, “You want to pay me millions to go over there and fight somebody like him. Sign me up! “Easy money, this is a bum who cannot fight. I know he’s a pussy, after our last fight, I rocked up to his after-party, I saw him and his Mrs, he said jack s***, he sent over a security guard to say, ‘please leave!’ He’ll find his level.”

The match will be available through pay-per-view through Showtime, with more details to come as the match gets closer.
