The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with the Lilley Library, will be hosting an event for a global program hosted by the Arolsen Archives in Germany on November 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is meant to help the Arolsen Archives create a digital memorial and database for the Jews of Germany and Austria who were arrested and sent to the Dachau concentration camp in November 1938.
The Night of Broken Glass took place on November 9th and 10th. The largest act of violence against Jews in Germany since the Middle Ages, 30,000 Jewish men were subsequently arrested and taken to concentration camps.
This November 9th, The Long Night of the Digital Memorial has been created by the Arolsen Archives, who have created a digital memorial to commemorate these victims.
Anyone interested is invited to contribute to this memorial and show that #everynamecounts
