On October 13, Adele announced that she will be releasing a new album titled “30.” On the next following day, Adele released a new song that will be featured on “30”, and it is called “Easy on Me.”

Adele’s fans have been starving for new music, as it has been six years since she has released any new music. Fans were not disappointed with “Easy On Me”, easily smashing streaming records. On the app Spotify, the K-pop group BTS was in the lead for the most streams in one day with their hit single “Butter”, released in May 2021. Now, “Easy on Me” holds that title. With a post on social media from Spotify, it was announced that “on Friday, October 15th, Adele’s Easy on Me became Spotify;s most streamed song in a single day.”

That was the only streaming record that was broken with this single; on October 16, Amazon Music stated that the single had “the most first-day Alexa song requests in Amazon Music History.”

In an Instagram Live that was hosted by Adele herself, the singer was posed a question of what the album would be about, and she responded with “divorce babe, divorce.”

In April of 2019, Adele announced that she was separating with her husband Simon Konecki. She did begin to write this album in 2019, and on an Instagram post, she wrote: “I’m ready to finally put this album out.” She also wrote that “it was my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life.”

Adele is not the only one struggling with the divorice, her nine-year old son seems to be struggling to wrap his head around it. In an interview with British Vogue, Adele revealed that her “son has had a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions, that I just don’t have an answer for.” Adele followed her comment up with an example: “Why can’t you still live together?”

The singer also revealed that as her marriage was breaking down, she struggled with anxiety.

It seems that with her new album “30”, Adele is completely sharing her stories to a new level. This also seems to be just the start because on November 14, there will be a two-hour special on CBS called “Adele: One Night Only.” This special will apparently include live performances from Adele herself, as well as an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Adele has also graced the cover of Vogue’s November Issue. In an interview with Vogue, she brings up her hit from her previously released album “25.” She had the highest first week sales in U.S album chart history, as well as her song “Hello” became the fastest video on Youtube to reach one billion views. However, in her interview, she mentions that she doesn’t want “another song like that. That song catapulted me in fame to another level that I don’t want to happen again. I’m not saying I’ve got ‘Hello’s in my pocket. I was just not conscious that I didn’t want my story on this album to sound like that.”

She also said that the album is “sensitive to me, this record, just in how much I love it…I’m not letting go of this one. This is my album. I want to share myself with everyone, but I don’t think I’ll ever let this one go.”

Be on the lookout for this album on November 19 and have tissues on standby. With the information provided, it seems that the expectations of the content of the album to be absolutely heart-wrenching.
