With the pandemic still an ongoing issue, masking up properly on campus is the only way to make sure Behrend students can stay in-person. Mask protocols haven’t changed, but reminders are always helpful and important.

Masks should be worn over both mouth and nose at all indoor spaces. Wearing a mask without covering the nose makes the protection the mask offers less effective.

It is also important to note that masks should be worn indoors at all indoor Penn State facilities. This means that no matter how long you will be in a building – whether it be 10 seconds or 10 minutes – students should be wearing a mask properly. Places where masks should be worn include all indoor spaces at residence halls, all indoor spaces in on-campus apartments, all classrooms, all dining areas when not actively eating or drinking, and all stair towers and elevators.

There are consequences for not wearing a mask when it is required. After being given one warning, students who are not masked properly in residence halls will be required to attend a Student Conduct Hearing.
