The beginning of the spring season marks an end to the dreary Erie winters we’ve all become so accustomed to. It also marks the beginning of the significant shift from the cozy neutrals of fall and winter to the colorful, trendy pieces of spring and summer. Here are a few of the anticipated spring fashion trends that deserve a place in your closet:

  1. Pastels

Pastels have been a staple of spring fashion for years. Whether it be the evocation of the Easter holiday or the suggestion of the newly blooming flowers–pastels during spring are here to stay. Though a variety of colors are available in pastel tones, the most popular palette tends to include purple, pink, yellow and blue.

               2. Miniskirts

In keeping with past trends that draw inspiration from a plethora of fashion significant decades, the miniskirts of today are reminiscent of the miniskirts of the 2000s. These miniskirts are often cropped above the mid-thigh and they occasionally have a slit to aid with mobility (plus it’s a charming detail). Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the miniskirt is quite practical for the season. Since spring is characterized by warming temperatures, it’s not shocking that fashion fanatics are eager to shed the winter layers in favor of a light miniskirt that won’t stifle its wearer.

                3. Babytees

Based on the previous entry, we know that 2000’s fashion is coming back in style–and there’s nothing that screams Y2K quite like a tight, cropped tee-shirt, or, in other words, a babytee. Babytees are often marked by a cutesy graphic (from which they get their name) across the front. Though these tees pair well with the aforementioned miniskirt, they can be paired with nearly any other piece you can find in your closet.

                4. Funky rings

If you have taken up permanent residence on the fashion side of TikTok (much like myself), then you’ve probably seen your favorite influencer sporting chunky, colorful rings. Occasionally homemade, these rings are a statement piece. Each ring is defined by its unique and bold pattern and, often vibrant, color scheme.

                5. Colored sunglasses

Though this style of eyewear made an appearance during the winter season, colored sunglasses will certainly prevail during the sunnier spring and summer seasons. These glasses tend to come in darker, neutral tones, more specifically red and yellow. They also typically come in a boxy black frame. Guaranteed to upgrade any outfit, these colored sunglasses are a must have spring trend.

                 6. Block heels

Basically, any shoe with a thick heel can fall under this category; these trendy shoes can vary from a platform type sandal to a strappy thick heel. Often worn in neutral colors, a block heel can pull an outfit together. Adding this finishing touch to a look never fails to make the outfit appear more thoughtful and put together–even when it isn’t.
