Luxurious fashion company, Stuart Weitzman owned by American designer, Stuart Weitzman, has launched their spring 2021 collection and supporters everywhere are very pleased. The campaign features world renowned Tennis player, wife, and mother Serena Williams and her 3-year old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. The mother-daughter duo can be seen adorning the gorgeous new white boots and sandals known as the NORAH bootie and the LYLA 75 SANDAL. Serena Williams is known for being a brand ambassador and the staff at Stuart Weitzman mentioned they were excited to have Olympia on set as well for the campaign. The proud mother mentioned, “being on set with Olympia to shoot this campaign meant so much to me, and it is a moment I will never forget.” 

The campaign, titled Footsteps to Follow is meant to portray empowered and wonderful women and the fact that it is released in the month of March (Women’s History Month) helps achieve this feat. Having Serena and her daughter campaign together highlights Serena’s past achievements and allows others to see what is in store for Olympia having being raised by an amazing woman. However, Williams says “I don’t know if I want Olympia to follow in my footsteps, I just want her to do whatever makes her happy.”  as the duo dance and model in a video edit for the campaign. The whole campaign is very inspiring and cute as people can see how deeply Olympia loves Serena and how she sees her as an absolute role model. 

Furthermore, the campaign, which celebrates Williams’ fourth season as their global spokeswoman, was conducted in the Star’s home in order to abide by the COVID-19 restrictions. Therefore it is amazing to think about how the fashion designer was still able to showcase the “powerful bond between mother and daughter that brings unfettered joy, unimaginable pride and unconditional love to the forefront.” In addition, it spreads the very important message that “every generation can inspire any generation”. 

Looking back at some of Serena Williams’s star moments, the tennis player is a 23-time Grand slam title winner which is more than any other women or male tennis player. Additionally, the Tennis star also holds the title for being the first African American woman to win a Grand Slam singles title in the ‘Open Era.’ Apart from her time on the tennis court, Williams has also won three gold medals at the Olympics and was named “Best Female of the Decade” in 2009 in Sports Illustrated. This makes her a very respectful person in the media’s eyes and surely makes her children and loved ones around her very proud of her. 

Lastly, having now looked at just the tip of the tennis player and mother’s greatness, Stuart Weitzman has mentioned that the campaign was so successful that they hope to do a remake 20-30 years in the future with the pair. If they manage to pull it off, it will truly be a history defining moment.
