Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Harry Styles is set to star alongside The Crown star Emma Corrin in his third film My Policeman. The movie is based on a book of the same title written by Bethan Roberts. The plot consists of an encounter in the 1990s that resurfaces memories from when Tom a police officer, played by Harry Styles, fell in love with a man named Patrick a museum curator. This relationship took place during a time where homosexuality was illegal, meaning their love had to be kept a secret. Causing repression of their feelings for each other for years and the need to live a double life. Tom eventually marries Marion, played by Emma Corrin, though he does not love her so that he can better fit in. My Policeman is centered around the love that Tom and Patrick share for each other and the strain that it put on their lives to keep their love for one another a secret. This film is sure to show the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ during the 1950s and having to conceal one’s true identity from the world. 

Harry has already starred in Dunkirk a World War II drama directed by Christopher Nolan. Though his role of Alex was not a big role it still exposed him to the movie scene. It allowed him to see what it was like to act and dip his toe into being an actor. Christopher Nolan casted Harry after his boyband went on a temporary hiatus because he saw potential in him. Along with his singing and acting, Harry has ventured into modeling for big brands such as Gucci. This sense of expressing fashion allowed for him to be found by director Olivia Wilde. Olivia thought that with his acting and sense of fashion, he would be perfect to star as Jack in her upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling. This film is a psychological thriller directed by Oliva Wilde that has just finished filming in February 2021 and is set to come out sometime later this year. In this film, Harry will star second to Florence Pugh, the female lead in the film. 

My Policeman is rumored to start filming in April 2021, only two months after Harry has wrapped filming for Don’t Worry Darling. Making his acting career more serious with two major films being filmed back-to-back. It leaves fans very excited to see what Harry will do next in his career. He also has just had major success with his second album, Fine Line, being certified as platinum and being nominated for multiple Grammys. Along with that Harry was just recently named Variety’s Hitmaker of the year and appeared as the first solo male on the cover of American Vogue. On his cover he wore a dress and expressed his thoughts on gender roles in fashion. From boyband heartthrob, to solo artist, to model, to actor, it seems there truly is nothing Harry cannot do.
