The beginning of a new semester is always overwhelming. While handling school work, it’ll be sad for college students if they have to coop themselves up in their rooms during the pandemic. What else can they do when the local events are all on hold? Here’re eight interesting and safe stay-at-home activities for them.

  1. Planning home workouts

Laying on the bed and eating sneaks won’t work forever. A structured plan can help people save time, keep exercising regularly and make a big difference to one’s fitness in a disciplined way.

  1. Creating pieces of fine works

Are there too many blank walls that need some decorations? Get some art supplies and upgrade the walls. Pinterest and Instagram will be good resources to get some art ideas. Getting a paint-by-number kit will also be a great beginning.

  1. Visiting virtual-reality versions of classic artworks

If someone has a VR headset but is getting bored of using them to play games only, VR exhibitions are awesome ways to change it up. New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) has just launched an interactive virtual art exhibition featuring augmented-reality versions of some of the world’s most iconic artworks. It’s free and available all month.

  1. Trying an online escape room

Everyone will be surprised that nowadays an online escape room can bring players such a strong sense of immersion through Zoom. Yes! It’s the Zoom that students take classes with every day. Even more surprisingly, loads of themes and options have been published!

  1. Baking some cute desserts

Spending time in the kitchen and seeing how a bowl of flour turns into some beautiful desserts brings a sense of achievement. Look up some easy recipe ideas and impress loved ones with a hand-made dessert.

  1. Having an indoor scavenger hunt

No one will say no to a hunt for hidden things. Prepare some scrap paper and type up a list of things for everyone to search for. Be creative. They can ignore somewhere they walk past every day.

  1. Hosting a karaoke night

This is a great way to spend family time together. PlayStation and Wii have several options to pick from. It will be an evening of lots of laughter and joy! Everyone loves to sing…even those who might not have the best singing voice like to bust out at karaoke.
